All forms of ragging are strictly forbidden both in and out of the college premises. An anti-ragging squad functions under the dean. Students are requested to report incidents of ragging (in college or hostel) to the dean, deputy director student affairs, guardian teachers, or wardens of the respective hostels. Offenders shall be punished with imprisonment of up to 3-years, and fines up to Rs 25000/- . Students can also be expelled from the institution.
Administrative action in the case of ragging:
All persons found guilty of ragging, or abetting someone to rag, whether actively or passively or being part of a conspiracy to instigate ragging shall be punishable under these regulations and also under any criminal law applicable at that time.
The institution will take stringent action against a student found culpable of ragging only after following the procedure and the manner prescribed here under:
In compliance with the notification of UGC Section 8 Required:
A. The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall arrive at a considered decision about the award of punishment, if any, based on the circumstances of each particular case of ragging and the degree of the incident of ragging as assessed in the Anti Ragging Squad report.
B. The Anti-Ragging Committee may, as per the extent of the offence and the recommendations made by the Anti-Ragging squad, impose one or more of the following sanctions, to those found guilty.
